a Lullaby

Now tangled in this lost sensation of an ecstatic world of make-believe.

Monster faces suspended in the air of mocking arrogance and enmity.

Rivalry rages like a beast caught in the eternal battle of precision

As hate leaps from beneath its wilderness of past fragmented emotions.

Now where is love when you need it?  Now where is love when you need it?

People die and then they live and then the series of impediment begins.

Some of an aspiration to high to reach, some of adoration impossible to convene

Though we wish to impede this maniacal mentality of pride and voracity

We are all left weak in its face of immoral beauty and lustful supremacy.

Who are we to say no to such susceptibility? When power is but what moves us all.

Now, where is hope when you need it? Now where is hope when you need it?

Time flies, as we remain static to the cataclysm of mankind’s fall to fatality.

Even beyond its blatancy we still fail to recognize it’s malicious face of indignity

And as we come across the phases of a letdown, we struggle to save ourselves.

Life is but a duel to be won, a battle to outlived where only the best is the victorious

But then we are merely puppets of a creature greater than the kings and soldiers.

And so when all else fails we seek the higher man’s salvation hoping to be freed.

But can we be saved? When once, twice we have failed to call him ‘Our Father’

Tears run across my cheeks as my faith has finally been awakened and I asked.

And prayed ‘Where art thou father?’ ‘Where are thou father?

There was silence. And finally I fell asleep.
